Interview recordings, dictated memories, and working transcripts are processed on-device rather than being submitted to public cloud-based AI services for processing.
Local AI tools
Our local workflow may include Whisper for speech-to-text transcription and locally hosted language models operated through software such as Ollama. These tools run on Legacy Writers hardware and can operate without transmitting the material being processed to an external AI provider.
No AI model training
Legacy Writers does not use client interviews, transcripts, manuscripts, photographs, documents, or personal stories to train, fine-tune, or improve artificial intelligence models.
No public cloud AI processing
Legacy Writers does not upload confidential interview recordings or unpublished manuscript material to public generative AI services such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot for processing unless a client has specifically authorized a different workflow in advance.
Encrypted storage
Digital project materials are stored on password-protected and encrypted systems controlled by Legacy Writers. Access is limited to people who require the material to perform work on the project.
Project completion and retention
When a project is complete, Legacy Writers retains or deletes project materials according to the terms agreed upon with the client and any legal or administrative requirements that apply. Temporary processing files and other working materials that are no longer required may be securely deleted.
Human responsibility
Artificial intelligence tools, when used, assist with limited technical and administrative tasks. They do not replace editorial judgment or authorship.
